Northlake District

Northlake, a new community hub in Oakland, needed an identity that could capture the energy of its evolving cultural and retail landscape while supporting ongoing outreach. Oakland Downtown Development engaged Chen Design Associates to create a system that would both express a district in transition and scale across community initiatives. In collaboration with ODD partners, I developed a flexible visual system—combining a custom logotype, rhythmic forms, and adaptable templates—to convey a sense of reinvention while equipping the client to extend the brand consistently across campaigns and community content.
